DTA Group is Committed to Supporting Youth Sports Development in Cyprus, Starting with Promising Tennis Player Aleksija Strika

DTA Group is announcing the sponsorship of Aleksija Strika, a promising junior tennis player from Limassol. This collaboration marks the beginning of DTA Group’s initiative to support the development of young athletes in Cyprus, aligning their commitment to excellence in construction with the fostering of sporting talent.

Aleksija Strika, a dynamic player who has been part of the U12 national Cyprus team since last year, represented her country at the 2023 Summer Cups in the Czech Republic and the 2024 Winter Cups in Austria. Her participation in these tournaments highlighted her skills on an international stage. For the upcoming Summer Cups, the girls’ team is traveling to Romania.

In just a few weeks following the announcement of DTA Group’s support, Aleksija showcased her talent at the U12 Tennis Europe Tournament at the Field Club in Nicosia. Her performance was at a high level, as she clinched her first singles title without losing a set and secured second place in the doubles category.

Aleksija’s journey in tennis began at the age of seven in Limassol. She has won numerous local tournaments in the U8, U9, U10, and U12 categories. For the past year, she has been part of the Herodotou Tennis Academy in Limassol, under the guidance of Demetris Herodotou.

The sponsorship by DTA Group is more than just financial support; it is a commitment to nurturing young talent and contributing to the sporting community in Cyprus. Thanasis Athanasiou, CEO of DTA Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We would like to build upon the winning attitude, dedication, and commitment we have in our field of work with the younger generations who share a passion for sport.”

We hope our initiative will be a milestone for other local companies to give their support to Cyprus athletes.
